Veneto Abano

Today, Abano is divided in two centers: the historian centre and the tourist centre. The historian centre offer the Duomo of San Lorenzo with the bell tower do in two different ages: the base, with brick more raw of 900 d.C., and the superior part is the 1200 d.C. . There are works of art of more prestige: some cloths of the school of Jcopo Ceruti (il Pitochetto), and: Pietro Vecchia, Amleto Sartori, J. K. Henrici, Mario Pinton, Luigi Strazzabosco, Giorgio Scalco, Enrico ed Aristide Ghiro, Imerio Trevisan.  There are more villas: villa Rigoni Savioli, Villa Bassi Rathgeb. In Monteortone there is the sanctuary of the Beata Vergine della Salute, with fresco of Jacopo da Montagnana and a Crocifissione di Palma il Giovane. In the tourist cente, there is the Pinacoteca del Montirone with the Collection of Bassi, with op-art of artists of'700 veneztian. Out of Abano there is the Monastero of San Daniele. Out of the town centre there is villa Cittadella Vigodarzere (now Gottardo) where Ugo Foscolo writed the famous romance "Le ultime lettere di Jacopo Ortis".
